Our Story
A Journey of Faith, Hope, and Victory in Christ
How It All Began
Victory Bible Church International (VBCI) is a full-gospel, charismatic church founded by Presiding Bishop Nii Apiakai Tackie-Yarboi. We exist to lead people to faith in Jesus Christ and guide them into full participation in Godβs family. At VBCI, we are committed to helping believers grow in spiritual maturity, discover their purpose, and serve faithfully, to the glory of God.
VBCI held its first service on June 2, 1985, in Accra, Ghana, with 89 people in attendance. Originally known as βJesus People Outreach Churchβ, the name later changed to βVictory Christian Centreβ and eventually became Victory Bible Church International: a name that reflects the global scope of our God-given mission.
A Growing Global Family
Today, VBCI is a dynamic network of churches with branches across Ghana, Europe, the United States, and Asia. We believe in an authentic community where lasting relationships are built and every believer is encouraged to grow, serve, and thrive in Christ.
We strive to be the kind of church described in the Bible where: Relevant teaching brings life, Passionate worship honors God, Genuine friendships are formed, Ceaseless prayer fuels our mission, and Compassionate care reaches those in need.
You Matter Here
At Victory Bible Church International (VBCI), we believe you are deeply valued because you are incredibly important to God. Whether you’re exploring faith for the first time or seeking a deeper sense of purpose, there’s a place for you here in our spiritual family.
