Lay Ministers Academy (LMA) is the teaching and training ministry of VBCI established to equip those who are called into ministry but still maintain secular jobs in order for them to fulfill their ministry.
This Academy is in response to the great burden which God placed on the heart of our Presiding Bishop, N.A Tackie-Yarboi. He has been mandated to raise the “many who are called” through training and equipping so they will turn out to be Pastors who will lead and feed God’s flock with knowledge and understanding.
Classes/training are conducted in a life-changing, paradigm-shifting, religion free environment over a twenty-week period. Open lectures and practical classes are also included in the course content to enable the students to experience interaction with seasoned ministers and to understand the art of effective sermon delivery.
It is the policy of VBCI (UK) that any one holding or aspiring to a leadership position (Deacon, Elder, Pastor etc) within the church must go through the academy in order to ensure that they properly imbibe the vision of the church.
Lay Ministers Academy is an empowering environment where the giant in you will awaken and respond to the call of God on your life.
We challenge you to step out in faith and courageously give us four (4) months of your life and you will never regret the decision.
We Train Students In Four Main Areas
Healing & Deliverance
This module is aimed at equipping students with the relevant knowledge and methods of healing and deliverance for ministry. Following the model of the healing and deliverance ministry of Jesus and the Apostles will help students understand and apply a pattern of biblical ministry for the expansion of God’s Kingdom.
Evangelism & Church Planting
This module is to equip the students with understanding of the goals, methods of approach, and the Holy Spirit’s role in Evangelism and Church Planting. Students will acquire knowledge in different styles of evangelism that suits their personality. They will also have the opportunity to learn and be involved in church planting.
This module aims to equip a lay-person with the relevant and requisite biblical knowledge and skill in order to be able to lead, feed and care for God’s flock (The Church).
This module aims to help students build stronger spiritual lives with the Lord. It aims to stimulate students’ thinking about God and ministry and to help make clear the practical ways of maintaining a healthy relationship with our Saviour.
